Phoenix and Scottsdale are quietly building one of the most active AI communities outside the coastal hubs. If you're a builder in the Valley and you don't know where to find your people, here's a map.
The AI Surfer Learning Center โ 6840 E Indian School Rd, Scottsdale Arizona's first dedicated AI learning center. 3,000+ square feet of interactive space run by Dallas Clounch and Matt Proud. They host about 50 events per year โ monthly masterminds, open workshops, and networking nights. More business-owner focused than technical, but that's not a bad thing if you want to connect with potential clients or collaborators.
SkySong โ ASU Scottsdale โ 1475 N Scottsdale Rd The Arizona AI & Emerging Technology meetup runs here. Monthly events, ~100 attendees, free to join. More technical than the AI Surfer crowd. This is where you'll find the engineers and researchers.
Phoenix iOS Vibe Coding Group Meets at Changing Hands Bookstore (300 W Camelback Rd). Focused on building iOS apps with Claude AI โ beginner-friendly, no experience needed. Active community for non-developers who want to ship something.
OpenClaw PHX โ Coming Soon That's us. We're planning the first Scottsdale-based meetup specifically for OpenClaw users and builders. If you want to be notified when we announce the date, email hello@openclawphx.com or follow @openclawphx.
The Valley doesn't need to be a secondhand AI community. The talent is here. The energy is here. It just needs places to gather.
