The OpenClaw LA chapter just wrapped their first-ever in-person meetup at Groundfloor in Los Angeles โ and it went better than expected. About 40 people showed up, most of them active OpenClaw users who had never met in person before.
What worked
The format was simple: no keynotes, no slides. Just a projector and an open floor for anyone to demo what they've built. Three people showed off live automations โ a Discord agent that summarizes daily server activity, a home lab monitoring stack, and a ClawHub skill that reads and files emails automatically.
The vibe was exactly what the organizers were going for: relaxed, demo-heavy, and conversational. Nobody was selling anything.
What we're stealing for PHX
We're planning the first OpenClaw PHX meetup later this spring in Scottsdale. Here's what we're borrowing from LA:
- No decks โ demo-only format - Keep it small โ 20-40 people max for the first one - Find a co-working space with a projector โ not a bar, not a conference room
If you're in the Valley and want to demo something at the first PHX meetup, email us at hello@openclawphx.com.
